I have always loved reading books of all kinds, from a non-fiction scandal to an autobiography, picture books to young adult novels, drama and suspense, comedy and a hint of romance - I enjoy them all. My favorites are literary travel books, and since becoming a parent, parenting books are at the top of my list.

Reading a good piece and respecting the efforts that go into writing it is in part what leads to my desire to write. I have always enjoyed putting paper to pen from the time of being editor of my high school newspaper to working toward my Registered Nursing Diploma and writing articles for a non-profit health and wellness newsletter.

I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba where I majored in Psychology and studied everything from philosophy and religion to business.

I have just completed two online writing courses, creative writing and writing for children.

My travels have taken me through a fair bit of the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and all of Western and some of Eastern Canada. There are still so many places to see!

I have facilitated literacy programs in my community for toddlers and preschool children, been a volunteer board committee member for various preschool programs, am currently involved with school activities and coaching soccer for kids under six.

Hobbies I have fun doing include photography, scrapbooking (to show case my photographs - I ran out of wall space), cooking, baking, a good game of scrabble and my list goes on...

My goal as a freelance writer is to share what I have learned, and to learn what I can.
